The Theme
October 31st is Halloween, and November 1st and 2nd are days when many people honor saints and other departed souls (such as El Día de Muertos in Mexican culture). In many countries around the globe there are similar days of remembrance. Spiritus is inspired by and inclusive of these traditions but is nonsectarian.

Participation
Each artist chooses a person who is no longer living — someone who has influenced his or her life in an important way. This may be a relative, friend, teacher, political, social or spiritual leader, author, actor, athlete, etc. Celebrate that person by creating an image combined with text, which relates to that person (or to the relationship you have had with them.)
This is a show for all artists. The image can be a drawing, painting, photograph, collage, digital art or a combination of all of these media. The text may be poetry, prose, lyrics, a sampling of relevant words, etc.
